MCIOB
Level 7 may support a professional pathway, but CIOB membership has separate eligibility, experience and Professional Review requirements.
CEnv
Chartered Environmentalist requires application through a licensed member, relevant experience, demonstrated competences and a Professional Review Interview.
Level 7 does not automatically confer MCIOB or CEnv. Current professional-body criteria should always be checked before making an application.

Before you enrol
What is qualification 610/5231/0?
The ProQual Level 7 Diploma in Environmental Management.
Is this an NVQ or a master’s degree?
No. It is an RQF Level 7 Diploma—not an NVQ, MSc or university master’s degree.
Do I need to be working?
Yes. SHEC Learning® requires a suitable role and access to strategic work-based evidence.
How is it assessed?
Through a portfolio of knowledge and competency evidence. There is no single traditional final examination.
Can it be completed remotely?
Learning, assessor support, portfolio submission and discussion can be remote, but authentic work-based evidence is still required.
How long do I have?
SHEC Learning® currently provides 24 months from the one-to-one induction.
Does Level 7 automatically award MCIOB or CEnv?
No. Both require separate eligibility, experience and professional assessment.
What can come after Level 7?
ProQual identifies possible progression to an MSc in Environmental Management or a similar programme, subject to the receiving institution’s requirements.
